The Book of Esther- 10 Lessons We Should Emulate

The book of Esther is a dramatic account which can give us insight into Gods special and purposeful plan for our lives. It also talks about how Esther move from grass to grace (Esther chapter1-10).
Here are 15 things to learn from the book of Esther
  • We need to heed instruction. Esther heed to her uncle’s advice that’s why she came out triumph, Esther 2 v10 “Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it”. Esther 2 v 20  “Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as Mordecai had charged her: for Esther did the commandment of Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him”.
  • We should have faith and patient: if not for faith that Esther had she would have not entered the competition at all, because of her humble background and tribe, and also she had patient to wait for 108days of purification. Esther 2v12  “Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purification accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women”.

  • Esther was a virgin. At this present time in Nigeria youth and teenagers are now scared and shy to be called virgin which is supposed to be the other way round. Esther 2v2 “Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king “.

  • Pride can destroy everything concerning you. Esther 1 v 12 “but the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore, was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him” because of Vashti’s pride she lost her right and her crown to the throne and was replace with a classless lady. Esther 2 v17 “And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti”.

  • Esther pleased God and she found favour in the eyes of everyone that saw her Esther 2 v 9  And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her  things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women”.

  • The people around you matters a lot: a proverb says show me your friends and I will tell you who you are. The people surrounding you matters a lot because they advise you and influence you positively or negatively, Esther 1 v 13 “Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment”.

  • Fasting and prayer brings divine solution. Esther 3 v 13 “And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a preyEsther 4 v 17 “Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish”Esther 7 v 10 “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified”.
  • God has place us where we are for a reason. Esther 4v14” For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall their enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this
  • Trusting in God completely brings great reward Esther 8 v17 “And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them”.
  • God has plan for everyone. Proverb 16 v 9 “A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps”.  We need to align our plan with God’s plan to as to be on the right path of life.

4 Keys to Discovering Your Divine Purpose

This is one of my favorite scriptures because inside it lie some beautiful keys to discovering your divine purpose. Take a look at the words themselves…. 1. Consider being Christ’s workmanship . Being Christ’s workmanship means that you are a custom creation–there is no one like you. Nobody else has the stuff that you have and nobody has been created in the way that you were created. You are a tailor-made, one-of-a-kind creation. So… you can relax and just know that. Because of this, you should never try to imitate and replicate what’s already been done. The world needs what only you have. Part of the discovery process is figuring out what it is that only you have and then committing to that. But you have to understand that that is your design and it is already within in. Any time you look outside yourself to find something that is only within, you miss the mark. Again, it’s all inside you… already. “For we are Christ’s workmanship...

Nearly every business has felt an impact from the recession. There has been no escaping. The root causes were universal and had a domino effect. Some small-business owners believe they've seen the bottom and they are surviving -- they are OK and they expect to persevere with modest adjustments.
